Day 1: Arrive Cairns
Welcome to the tropical North! Make your own way to Rydges Esplanade Resort Cairns today, where you are welcome to check in to your Garden View Room from 3pm. Enjoy a complimentary welcome drink and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Cairns Free Day (B)
Spend a full day of free time today. The Rydges Esplanade Resort location right on Cairns’ famous Esplanade offers a relaxing, indulgent place to unwind and a launch pad to explore Cairns and surrounds. Enjoy the expansive lagoon-style pool and outdoor dining options. Cairns’ many popular restaurants, bars and shops are just outside your door.

Day 3 Cairns – Daintree NP – Cooktown (Boxed Breakfast, L, D)
Meet your Driver Guide this morning and travel north to the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. There’s time to experience a 1-hour wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, BBQ lunch and guided rainforest walk at the Marrdja Boardwalk. Then visit the iconic Cape Tribulation Beach – named by Captain Cook in 1770. Your driver will share fascinating stories and local history as you travel along the famous 4WD-only Bloomfield Track. Enjoy a stop at the iconic Lion’s Den Hotel for a cool refreshment (own expense). On arrival at Cooktown, relax before an included welcome dinner.

Pack lightly for your 2 night trip to Cooktown. Only comfortable casual clothing, swimwear and comfortable shoes are required. The tour vehicle has limited luggage space and each traveller is strictly limited to one overnight bag only. Your main bag will be securely transferred to Port Douglas prior to your arrival there.
Day 4: Cooktown & Surrounds (B)
Start your exploration of Cooktown with a guided foreshore walk, see reconciliation rocks – where the first act of reconciliation between Europeans and Aboriginals took place. Learn about the 48 days Captain Cook and his crew spent ashore, the role Cooktown played in the Palmer River Gold rush and the connection to country the area has, for the local Guugu Yimithirr Aboriginal people. This afternoon, visit the Heritage listed Cooktown Cemetery, bearing testimony to the diverse nationalities who came to Cooktown and the Palmer Goldfields. From there explore James Cook Museum showcasing the fascinating history of this remarkable town. See original artifacts from the Endeavor including a cannon and anchor. Today concludes with a visit to Grassy Hill for amazing panoramic views of Cooktown, the Coral Sea and Endeavour River.

Day 5: Cooktown – Port Douglas (B, L)
There is free time this morning to explore Cooktown’s many historic buildings and places of interest. Lunch is included before guided walk through the renowned Cooktown Botanic Gardens, established in 1878. Then, visit Nature’s Powerhouse, including the Vera Scarth-Johnson gallery, a collection of original botanical illustrations of flora from the region. Later, depart Cooktown via the Mulligan Highway. Stops are made enroute at Black Mountain, Byerstown Lookout and the Palmer River Roadhouse. Marvel at the beauty of the outback savannah country with its vast eucalypt forests and termite mounds. Your tour will conclude in the early evening, when you farewell your Driver Guide in Port Douglas.

Day 6 & 7: Port Douglas Free Day Or Outer Barrier Reef to Agincourt Reef Cruise
Depending on scheduling, on days 6 and 7 you will:
Have a full free day to relax in your One Bedroom Self Contained Apartment at Freestyle Resort Port Douglas and time to explore the laid back township of Port Douglas at your own pace.
Be collected in the morning for an exciting full day on the Great Barrier Reef. Your comfortable, airconditioned Quicksilver Cruise to Agincourt Reef and Pontoon includes morning and afternoon teas on board and a reef presentation by a marine biologist. A delicious hot and cold tropical buffet lunch and all snorkelling equipment is provided at the pontoon. Qualified snorkelling safety officers are on hand, experience the underwater observatory fish & coral viewing, plus fish feeding conducted by the crew. Be transferred back to Freestyle Resort at the end of your reef day.

COVID SAFE PLAN
The tour coach will be sanitised regularly with a deep clean at the end of every shift. Hand sanitiser will be provided on the coach.
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one bag not exceeding 20kg on tour, regardless of any other baggage allowance.
Porter service is not included and you are expected to carry your own bags.
Luggage and personal effects are your own risk and we hold no liability for lost or damaged belongings.
Final documentation will be emailed within two weeks of departure of the respective travel component.
The itinerary and its order, sightseeing and transportation may be adjusted as deemed necessary for optimum safety, enjoyment and operation of the tour.
If attractions are not available due to reasons beyond our control such as closures or adverse weather, similar alternatives will be provided where possible.
The indicated length of trip includes time in flight and is subject to change depending on the final flight schedule.
Included admissions provide general entrance to the attraction and do not include secondary admissions or expenses inside the venue.
Any reference to ‘optional’, ‘not included’ or ‘exclusions/excluded’ means at your own expense.

Complaints must be submitted in writing with substantiated evidence within 10 days of trip completion.

Force majeure means any natural disaster, accident, fire, act of God, act of war, terrorism, legally binding judgment, injunction, action of a court or other relevant authority, emergency, unplanned repairs, maintenance, strike, industrial dispute, work ban, blockade or picketing, travel ban, pandemic, epidemic or outbreak of infectious disease, or other event beyond our reasonable direct or indirect control.
In case of force majeure or other extraordinary event that prevents safe travel, we reserve the right to adjust, postpone or cancel the trip.
